About The Author

Dave grew up in a close family and spent most of his free time in the great outdoors fishing, camping and trapping. He spent countless hours shooting his BB gun, and worked his way up to an air rifle as he got older. When the time was right, he learned how to shoot a .22 rifle. Time spent fishing with his parents and grandparents, hunting stories from other friends and relatives, as well as adventurous stories in Field and Stream and Outdoor Life magazines fueled his passion. He took his Pennsylvania Hunter’s Safety Course at age 12 and has been hunting and shooting ever since.

Dave eats, sleeps and breathes hunting, fishing, archery, firearms and anything else to do with the outdoors. He has hunted from horseback with bow and rifle for deer and elk in the wilderness areas around Yellowstone Park in both Wyoming and Montana. He’s competed in high power rifle matches with an AR-15 and spent many weekends shooting his bow in 3-D archery competitions. He’s also an active fresh water fisherman. Lately, he’s been spending time shooting sporting clays and when he has the time for archery, he uses his recurve bow more than his compound.

He is the owner of Pachella Arms http://www.pachellaarms.com/ in Boyertown, Pennsylvania and enjoys meeting and talking with his customers. Many friendships have been made at his store over the years. Dave is skilled at general gun repair and scope mounting and is an expert with ballistics. He would also be happy to set up your new bow, or mount a scope on your favorite deer rifle.  Picking out a new rifle scope or set of binoculars can be a daunting task, but Dave will show you what you want and need to know about the benefits, performance and use of each set of optics. As a young adult, he was able to enjoy his love of the outdoors at his job where he worked for many years at a nursery. It was there that he learned how to grow trees, run equipment and farm machinery.  His passion for farming continues today as he owns a small Christmas tree growing operation and he also raises Ringneck Pheasants.

With a never ending curiosity to learn and a passion for adventure, Dave was always an avid reader. He had a desire to write since elementary school. It wasn’t until his late 40’s that the time had come. He was ready. Follow his blog and enjoy his stories, adventures and “Davisms”. Get ready for his first book, “Campfires and Gunpowder”.
